RISD♡BROWN
Design identity↟
A series of logomarks and stickers created in response to collective grief following the gun violence in Providence, offered as a gesture of support between the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University communities. The initiative explores how a small, repeatable form can circulate care—acting less as branding and more as a shared symbol of resilience, connection, and hope.
The symbols draw from the Van Wickle Gates—a ceremonial threshold students pass through when they first enter
campus as Freshmen and again when they graduate. Paired with an intentionally ambiguous sunrise/sunset,
the imagery holds a sense of hope, marking transition, continuity, and the possibility of moving forward together.
