Compression simplifies data, making it more portable while sacrificing detail and originality. From early Morse code to modern image formats like JPEG and PNG, the process strips away complexity, reshaping media and its cultural significance. As images and texts are repeatedly compressed and transmitted, they lose fragments of their original form, becoming something both familiar and new.

All tools of generatation were programmed and created by Alexander Pink and Nadine Macapagal.

This transformation, explored through grids, publication design, and motion graphics, was featured in an exhibition at RISD Design Commons from March 3 to March 14 2025
